Website

Ne'emanei Torah Va'Avodah operates a website (toravoda.org.il) that is fundamentally different from other religion-based websites in the pluralism of views presented, in its bold Halachic position, and in its intellectual openness. Unlike many other websites where political, personal and social issues are colored exclusively by Halachic conservatism and ultra-orthodoxy, our site makes a serious an effort to deal with the difficulties of religious life in the modern world. Alone among the numerous religious websites that tend to display views that are only identified with the ultra-orthodox nationalist stream, the Ne'emanei site believes it is important to broaden the spectrum of positions so to better deal with the dilemmas and problems raised by its content. The site is also a storage place for back issues of Et Lidrosh, De'ot, and for essays written by members of the movement. Another feature of the website is a forum for open discussion on a variety of topics concerning Judaism and Israeli society. In what way is the site unique? First, it is an open and self-critical platform that aims to expand cultural-religious discourse; second, it gives a voice to moderate religious perspectives; third, it promotes public activity on issues of deep concern to religious society; and finally, it helps shape the Jewish character of the State of Israel. In 2008 our new website, at an investment of $4,250, will be instituted. The upkeep of this site includes an annual fee for Internet space and personnel to update the site on a daily basis, at an annual cost of $5,000.
