התקנות החדשות מחזקות את מעורבות הקהילות בבחירת הרב ומביאות שיקוף נכון ואמיתי של צרכיהן. הסעיף הקוצב את כהונת רבני הערים לעשר שנים, כפי שהצענו ואף קידמנו הצעת חוק בנושא, חשוב באופן מיוחד.
אנחנו פועלים במשך שנים לשינוי תקנות מינוי רבני ערים על מנת להביא לשירותי דת מקומיים טובים ומחוברים יותר לציבור. אנו מאמינים כי התקנות החדשות יועילו במינוי רבני ערים שיהיו מקובלים על כלל הציבור, ויעמיקו את תחושת המחויבות והאחריות שלהם לציבור שאותו הם משרתים. בכך הן יחזקו את דמותה היהודית והדמוקרטית של המדינה.

We welcome the introduction of the new regulations for the appointment of city rabbis
The new regulations strengthen the involvement of communities in the selection of their rabbi and bring a correct and true reflection of their needs. The section limiting the tenure of city rabbis to ten years, as we proposed and even promoted a bill on the subject, is particularly important. We have been working for years to attempt to change the regulations for appointing city rabbis in order to improve local religious services and ensure they are more suited to their public. We believe that the new regulations will be helpful in appointing city rabbis who will be acceptable to the general public, and will deepen their sense of commitment and responsibility to the public they serve. In this way, they will strengthen the Jewish and democratic image of the State
